Establece como prioridad el principio de excelencia legislativa a fin de garantizar una respuesta adecuada a los actuales retos políticos, que requiere la consolidación de los recursos necesarios para abordar el nuevo marco institucional que resulta de la entrada en vigor del Tratado de Lisboa; opina que el presupuesto del Parlamento y del resto de instituciones para 2012 debe ser un presupuesto de consolidación, entre otros motivos porque puede servir como referencia para el próximo Marco Financiero Plurianual;
Sets the principle of legislative excellence, as a priority, to ensure an appropriate response to the current political challenges, which requires the consolidation of the resources needed to address the new institutional framework resulting from the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty; takes the view that the budget of Parliament and the other institutions for 2012 should be a budget of consolidation, not least because it may also serve as a reference for the next multiannual financial framework;
