En el informe, Progress on Drinking Water and Sanitation 2012 (Progreso sobre el agua potable y saneamiento 2012), realizado por el Programa conjunto se seguimiento para el abastecimiento de agua y saneamiento de la OMS/UNICEF, se afirma que, a finales de 2010, el 89 % de la población mundial, es decir, 6 100 millones de personas, tendrán acceso a fuentes de agua potable mejoradas.
The report, Progress on Drinking Water and Sanitation 2012, by the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply and Sanitation, says at the end of 2010 89% of the world’s population, or 6.1 billion people, used improved drinking water sources.
